What is a buyback program ?
Buyback programs are services commonly offered in many corporations and alliances. They allow players to sell to their corporations or alliances loot items they gathered. The corporation or alliance pays the player a percentage agreed in advance and usually takes a certain percentage as a profit. This profit constitutes an income that covers, among other things, the expenses associated with the transport and resale of the items, in addition to enriching the group. Such a program has several advantages.
For the player :
- The player can sell the items locally. He doesn't have to take care of moving them himself to a commercial hub and taking care of their resale.
- The player can quickly convert those items in isks, giving him access to the cash flow needed to support his operations.
For the corporation or alliance :
- Profits from such a program can be attributed to group expenses (structure' maintenance fees, corporation's offices fees, alliance or coalition's membership fees, ship replacement program (SRP), weekly sovereignties fees, etc) or to some collective projects.
- The items can be converted into ressources, such as minerals, for example. This may constitute an interesting supply for minerals that are not available in the region in which the group operates.
The Sorry in Advance buyback program
As part of his buyback program, Sorry in Advance purchases the following items :
- PVE and PVP loot ;
- Planetary interaction products (PI) ;
- Raw and refined mining products:
- Raw and refined moon ore ;
- Ice ;
- Gas.
The buyback price is set to 80 % Jita buy price. The selling price is calculated according to the Evepraisal website. To learn how to use this website to get a link confirming the selling price of your contract, read the dedicated section in the Ressources menu.
To sell your items, you have to do a contract to Cold Annihilator, who manage the program. The contract has to meet the following requirements :
- Location of the contract :
- Null sec : 6E-MOW - Beaver's Dam
- High sec : Khanid Prime - Tim Horton
- The contract must be for a period of 4 weeks.
- The contract must include, in the comment section, the link (permalink) of Evepraisal website confirming the sale price.
Note that contracts that do not respect these requirements may be refused. They will then have to be redone.
Also note that the contracts won't necessarily be redeemed immediately. Just like you, the officedr who manage the program has many occupations, both in-game and in real life, and is not always available to immediately accept contracts.
